Pastor Jennifer Seaich
Rev. Jennifer Seaich began her pastorate at Beavercreek United Church of Christ in February 2016 and says “I feel very blessed to be pastor of Beavercreek UCC, which is such a special, warm and loving congregation”.
Rev. Jennifer’s ministerial passions include social justice, pastoral care, spiritual formation, interfaith and ecumenical collaboration, and nurturing BUCC community life. She believes that everyone is called to relationship with God and to service with our own unique gifts and talents. In a time of emerging church, Rev. Jennifer is interested in finding authentic ways of being church together and satisfying hunger for spirituality, deep connection with God and neighbor.
Jennifer holds a Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School and a Master in Counseling from Idaho State University. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English and Religious Studies from the University of Montana in Missoula.
Before coming to Beavercreek, Jennifer was director of Catholic Campus Ministry at Idaho State University and worked as a counselor, doing psyychotherapy with diverse clients in Idaho. She was active in social justice and community organizing, including serving as President of the Portneuf Interfaith Fellowship, President of2Great4Hate (a community human rights organization), Officer for the Portneuf Environmental Resource Council, and as a member of the Community Non-profit hospital board of directors and Idaho Advisory Committee on HIV and AIDS. Rev Jennifer was also an active member of the community group that organized for an ordinance banning discrimination against LGBT in housing and employment. She received community awards for her Interfaith Work and Contributions to Human and Civil Rights.
In personal time, Jennifer loves reading, writing, cooking and baking, travelling, walking, movies, and being with her two standard poodles, Owen and Finn. The dogs also love BUCC and have met many wonderful people who will scratch their ears.
Barbara SpecHt, Music Director
Music is an important part of worship at Beavercreek United Church of Christ. As the Director of Music, Barbara Specht is heartbeat of the musical experience at BUCC. Barbara is not only the Organist and Choir Director for the Sunday church service, she also arranges for special music for services. In her spare time, Barbara is a Master Gardener for Clackamas County.
Kara Tellinghusen, Secretary
Kara Tellinghusen is the office secretary at Beavercreek United Church of Christ and knows most of the nooks and crannies of our church. Kara earned a BA in Business and Organizational Leadership from George Fox University, and a Legal Certificate from Portland Community College.
Kara has been married to her wonderful husband, Larry for, as she says, many, many years. She has two Step-Daughters Cam and Chris, and three Grandchildren Christopher, Kylie and Shelby.
Kara enjoys reading most anything, cooking and whipping up new recipes and gardening. She also loves to travel whengiven the chance.
