As Christians, we are called to feed the hungry. In Matthew 25, Christ told us that whenever we feed someone who is hungry, we feed him. We at Beavercreek take this seriously and make outreach to those in need a central part of our mission. Since 2010 BUCC has operated a food pantry, in partnership with the Oregon Food Bank (www.oregonfoodbank.org)

Unemployment, underemployment, stagnant wages, and the high cost of necessities like gas, lodging, utilities, and medical care force people to seek emergency food assistance.  Many are still feeling the effects of the Great Recession, for though employment is up, dollars are still stretched. More people are visiting food pantries more often, meaning these are essential resources for our communities. The majority of food pantry recipients are families.

Food is provided by the Oregon Food Bank as well as donations from the community. We are able to provide canned goods, as well as cheese, eggs, and fresh produce to families seeking food assistance. We also provide personal hygiene items and have a little free library with books for children and grown ups.

The food pantry gratefully accepts both cash donations and food, as well as hygiene items (soap, shampoo, feminine hygiene products, toilet paper, etc).
